Do I have Lice?

My head has been really itchy and I just combed out my hair onto a white piece of paper and there was this clear thing crawling around so is that lice? And are they like fatal or anything cause I don't really want people to know cause its really embarrassing so will they ever go away on their own?

They aren't fatal! All you have to do is go to the drug store and by some RID. There are specific instructions you have to follow. You will need to sanitize all of your bedding, hats, etc. Do this immediately! Also, every person in your household will need to be treated!

No, they will NOT go away on their own. Everybody gets them sooner or later. Children often bring them home from school then infest the rest of the household. There is no reason to be embarrassed! Just make sure you treat everyone in the household and follow the directions exactly!

Sounds like lice. WalMart and WalMart like stores sell shampoo that will kill the lice and the nits (eggs) in your hair.

Be sure to follow the package instructions.

They will not go away on their own. You should also treat your furniture and car since the lice may laid eggs anywhere your head has been.

Be sure to wash all of your clothes, too!

Good News: NO, They won't kill you. NO, You don't need a doctor.

Bad News: Treat them NOW or they'll get worse!

Important advice:

1) These products are like pesticides; they're poison, plus some don't work very good, so get advice from the pharmacist.

2) Wash everything - bed linen, towels, hairbrush, etc.

3) Keep your hairbrush, towel, etc., away from others.

4) Repeat treatment in a couple weeks!

Okay, for tonight.... read the link below about the mayonnaise treatment. I wouldn't use only this, but it 's a start until you can get to the pharmacy.

Yes and sometimes they will be a brownish colour, But you can buy shampoo for them to make them go away, It sometimes takes a little while sometimes its fast, But when EACH times you use the shampoo Wash Your pillow cases,Sheets etc...

Their not fatal but can get annoying =)

You don't need a doctor to get rid of lice. Try the OTC products and use the NIT COMB(most important). I think we are just grossed out by lice because we can see them. They don't carry diseases. We're happier to catch a flu (which causes thousands of deaths in the US each year) We can't see a virus so we're not nearly as uncomfortable with the idea

Looks like you've been near someone who carries the buggers. They are not fatal and no they do not go away. go to the chemist and explain. They'll give you a shampoo and tell you how to use it. Also you might need a very fine comb to get rid of the eggs.

But see to it quickly because you'll be passing those things on to other people. lice love a clean head of hair. And don't be embarrassed it's a very common problem.
