How to hide greasy layers?

I recently got my hair layered, and now the short piece in front gets greasy really fast. I don't wash my hair every day bc i heard its bad for it. How can I conceal the greasiness, or maybe get rid of it? The only product I use is hair softener, and I dont put it on that part.

If you have oily hair, you should try not to wash it every day, as that only stimulates your scalp to produce more oil. I have the same problem, and there are two things that help: #1, try to switch up your shampoos every two weeks or so. You can go back to the same one you used before, just take occasional breaks from it. Head and Shoulders is great for this. The other thing is powder, as some others mentioned. However, I don't use baby powder, I buy ALmay or Revlon loose powder so it is flesh colored and I don't get those white streaks like with baby powder.

a little bit of baby powder will help.

invest in atleast 3 different kinds of dry shampoos so you'll have scents to choose from to suit your mood, then plop some on your hand and run it through the greasy parts, blowdry your hair and then done :]

get baby powder and sprinkle a little on roots and then just like massage it through your hair....just dont use too much or your hair will be white. The powder sucks up the oil i guess.......it was on www.pioneerthinking.com...its a great website

Girl friend, you heard wrong when someone told you washing your hair everyday is bad for it. If you use the correct product, a nice moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, you won't overdry your hair. About these greazy layers of yours. Well I think we found the source of your problem in the not washing. Don't use too much conditioner. Over conditioning can make your hair look flat and greasy pretty quickly. Use a quarter size amount of conditioner for medium to shoulder length hair, and then double, or half accordingly. Best of luck with those greazy locks of yours.

I don't know who told you it was bad to wash your hair every day, but they are wrong. It's GOOD to wash your hair. Gets out the oil, dandruff, dead skin, everyday dirt.

I wash my hair every day and I'm 52...it's O I L Y and if I don't wash it, it hangs in oily strings and smells nasty. Clean hair is a sign of all over cleanliness.

My teacher said that if you will put corn starch on your brush then brush it through your hair it will draw the oil away. He said his aunt never washed her hair, she just did this every night.
