Curling Iron Problem?

Ok, I have short hair and what I do everyday is curl it and style it. So, when I'm curling pieces of my hair, I tend to spray hairspray on it at the same time to make it stay curled for the rest of the day. Except, now its got hair all over it and is really sticky. It's got this **** on it from when I sprayed my hairspray on it. My question is, whats the best thing to clean it off with or whats the best technique to cleaning it? If you could help me, then I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks! : )

Hairspray will soften and come off if you wipe the curling iron down with a wet cloth. If the build up is really thick, its going to take some time to get it all off, but you don't need any special cleaners. You might think about wiping it down after using it every time to keep from having the build up in the first place.

I had mine done, except that were pink. Just make sure your stylist doesn't make them too thick or you'll look awfully silly - I know this from experience, haha. But that's a really basic concept that you can explain without a picture.

To correct brassy highlights should one use a color rinse or color glaze?

i have dark brown hair/relaxed and recently got highlights i HATE. i was hoping for a lighter shade of brown but they are orange/red/brassy. HELP! i went back to salon and it still looks the same. Any suggestions? i was thinking the healthy thing to do for my hair would be to use a dark brown color rinse like fanci full but am afraid it might make the pieces of my hair that are not highlighted redish. or maybe even the new john frieda luminouse color glaze???

Hi. im 18 and im a male.

I have very little armpit hair on my left arm.. but if you look at my right one there is a noticeable diference as to how much there is.

And on my stomach, i only have about 12 pieces of darker hair right under my belly button. i can see a line of tiny little blond hairs going down the middle of my stomach, but those are like the kind on my arm that never grow into anything.

Dude, the hair will grow. When I was 18 I had very little hair. After a few years some grew. Then an ex convinced me to shave my chest and back. Then more grew. Now I have a decent amount of hair, unfortunetely, a little on my back. So maybe try shaving what you have off and it will grow back thicker.

Hey man, I'll be 59 next month and don't have much more than you are describing. I always told the guys in the locker room that grass won't grow on a playground. Or if you really want to get something started tell them that everybody gets the same amount of hormones, and if they want to use theirs to grow hair it's OK with you.

To answer your question, I did notice a slight increase from 18 to about 23 but I would say you are about finished. Maybe 10% more or so but I doubt you will ever look like a bear or a gorilla.

The only thing I miss is I would love to be able to grow a "respectable beard". I have enough facial hair to require daily shaving but it is patchy and frankly looks ridiculous when I let it grow.

And, as far as the girls go; well, grass won't grow on a playground.

what does nits look like. I know someone that went to get there hair colored and they was told they had nits. They then went to the doctor and he told her that he just thought it was dandruff. Does nits itch? She said her head never itched. And now she is scared that she really might have them even thought the doctor said that it wasn't. The pieces in her hair are white tiny pieces. And they are not hard to get out. She is now scared to go back to another place because she is afraid they will tell her that they are nits too. But I would think the doctor would know the truth.

Tell me if you like this, you go to a hair salon, and ask your hairstylist to cut off all the spilt/dead ends off your hair. (There are naturally some shorter pieces of your hair then the rest). It's about 2-4 inched loswer then mid-back. You ask your hairstylist to still keep it NICE AND LONG, and tell ehr to put nice NOTICABLE long layers. And at the end of the layers, I want it at a U-Shaped.

I just got this new straightener, I know the concept isn't new because my mom had one like it. It's a straightener you can use on wet hair. Well, a long time ago I asked my stylist about this and she said that exists?! I wouldn't use it on my hair if I were you, it'd burn it.

So ladies, is that true? I mean why would conair make a product that will burn your hair?

i have tried to cut my own bang an have made a total bodge this was about 8 weeks ago

to cut your hair at an angle, pull the piece across your face and cut it straight across. perfect angle! but trust me, you are not the only person who has tried to cut their own hair and failed. go to a salon, they might giggle a little bit, but they will actually know how to make it look good!

i straighten my hair EVERYDAY. literally. my daily routine is to:

Get in shower

Shampoo hair (yes, everyday)

Put conditioner in hair (everyday)

then blow-dry it

Lastly, straighten my hair (EVERYDAY)

This is literally my daily routine for my hair-care. My hair is really wavy and I hate it like that. I use Garnier Fructious shampoo and conditioner. AFTER i straighten my hair, it gets alll frizzy. Like, my hair breaks and there's little pieces of broken hair all over. Then my hair will be PERFECT before i leave for school (Besides 4 the frizzies). And then mid-day my hair flips-out the other way. (my hair is layered)

Any tips on getting my hair so it's not soo frizzzy and for making it straight ALL DAY LONG. without looking greasy though.....that's part of the reason i straighten my hair....so it dries the oils out of my hair.

I NEED TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR EVERYDAY....no question.

-If you have curly hair, let it be! Curls are soo nice..

i do the same routine as you and i have the same hair but changing the shampoo and conditioner helps. Use herbal essences "Pin Straight" shampoo and conditioner. I use it and it works wonderful. sometimes i dont even have to straighten my hair :)

Basically any brand will work cuz I cant think of the one my b/f uses his hair is neva greasy just get some gel that is strong max hold It is like a 10. (Rated on the bottle 1-10 for strength) and it keeps his hair in place, never moves, the frizzes are neva seen and even straightens out the little curls he has if he brushes it right wil it is drying in his hair.

I know it's normal to lose hair after you've showered or blow dried your hair, but I think I lose alot more hairs than I should...there's always so many pieces on the floor and in the tub. Hair just falls out all the time. I find them everywhere...and I'm kind of scared. I'm only eighteen! This whole thing freaks me out. Well I can tell you from experiance that your hair will grow back. Do you die your hair a lot???? I have died my hair quite a few times and strands fall out, but it grows back that probably why you dont see balding. also when you have dead ends form what i hear your hair falls out more if you have a lot of dead ends or just need a hair cut you should vut your hair, or if you due your hair take a break from that for a while.

easiest way is to scratch it, but im guessing u already tried. The components of the hair dye you used caused an allergic reaction in your scalp, which should have been gone, but because you say you have psoriasis, it just got worse. Best thing to do is go to a dermathologist and they'll tell you what to use...also, putting your head in cold water seems to help.

Okay well my eye hurts really bad and I slept with my contacts in last night?

So I was wondering if I might have an infection? It hurts really bad on my right eye whenever I blink. I think I might have scratched my cornea because when I took the contacts out, there was a piece of hair on the contact.? So what should I do?

If I were you I wouldn't wear contacts for a few days to let your eye heal. I doubt you have an infection, but only a doctor could tell you for sure. If you're nervous about it, make an appointment with your doctor or go to an urgent care clinic. If it was me, I would just let my eyes "chill out" for a few days (wear glasses and DON'T RUB THEM), maybe irrigate my eyes with some sterile saline and keep an "eye" on them (haha) to see if it gets worse or better.

It could be that you had an eyelash or hair under the contact and it just irritated your cornea. Don't wear your contacts to sleep in unless your optometrist says you can (depends on the type of lens you wear)

don't wear contacts for a few days, and every few hours rinse your eye out really well with saline solution.

Don't rub your eyes.

If it doesn't get any better within a week, or gets worse before that, call your eye doctor and make an appointment.

And try not to fall asleep with your contacts in!

You shouldn't wear your contacts (or at least your right contact) until your eye feels better. The cornea heals itself really quickly. If you do have a corneal abrasion, the best thing to do is to put a little patch over it, because it will keep you from blinking with the eye. Every time that you blink if there is a scratch will irritate it. It will be better in no time!

I had mine done, except that were pink. Just make sure your stylist doesn't make them too thick or you'll look awfully silly - I know this from experience, haha. But that's a really basic concept that you can explain without a picture.

Well. On January 1st, 2007 (this year) my cat Princess went missing. Then today I was looking on my local animal rescue and they had a picture of a cat. It looks EXATCLY like my cat Princess. Same color, eye color, shape, size, meow, attitude, markings and even the pad color. So we went to take a look at the cat. Well. The cat is a neutered MALE. Mine is a spayed FEMALE. But it was listed on the website as a female. I am 99% sure that it is my cat Princess. The only thing is that they say that the cat is a neutered MALE. So we looked and my mother and I both agreed that it is a female. How can I tell a neutered male from a female? There is no empty sac where the testicles used to be. I cant believe that it is a MALE. Since Princess was spayed she should have a scar on her stomach, right? So they could shave a piece of hair and see if the cat has a scar. But I dont want to put the cat through that since he/she is very upset. I belive that it is my cat Princess. How I tell if its a girl?

Well, i would ask if you could see the cat and then check if it is a male or a female. If you don't know how to check it is just like a baby. I would think if it looks exactly like your cat it probably might be and they might have said that it is a bot but meant a girl. Also, if it has the same things (attitude etc.) ask if they will let you take the cat home (if they are nice people if not i wouldn't cause then they will probably get mad and stuff) and see if she/he knows where everything is at or about where everything is at and it is most likely you cat.

I got him a couple months ago, and he wouldn't eat very much... he would eat, just not very much. I've never had a betta in my whole life that would eat a lot, but all of the sudden, that betta's always hungry! He'll stick his mouth above the water for a very long time and whenever I put food in, he shreds it up and eats it and waits for more... I'm not overfeeding him, but I feel like I am, because he is begging for so much food all the sudden... I don't think I'm feeding him too much... seriously, I've NEVER in my entire lifetime seen a betta want to eat so much!!! And I thought bettas were picky... and you know what that betta likes? Anyone get food stuck in their throat? It's been 4 days!?

I ate a sandwich w/ onions on it and noticed the onions had that clear skin on it. I should have thrown the onions out. Ever since eating that, 4 days ago, I feel something in the back of my throat. It goes down a little, then comes back up, but I can't see it and I keep coughing as hard as I can and it won't come up. It feels like either the onion skin or even like a piece of hair or plastic wrapper in there. It's very uncomfortable. Has anyone had this happen or anything similar??

Ok, so you know the combing method that you like take a long piece of hair, and get the longest and comb back or something then take the sharp part of the comb and "cut" it off.. something like that.... anyhow... how does that thin it??? I need like a video or something... please help....

It's not that hard once you get the hang of it...it just takes practice. Comb down a small amount of mane with one hand and then hold it by the ends with the other. "Tease" back the shorter hairs; the ones you aren't holding. Next, use the comb to pull, not cut, the longest hairs remaining. The idea is to thin the mane by pulling the entire length of the longest hairs out, not just simply shorten the entire length. With some practice you can do this. Be patient and take your time.

Don't forget the tail...if it's long enough for your horse to step on he could hurt his back.

To thin it you pull it, don't cut it. You take pieces of hair that are longer than the rest and rap it around the comb and just pull. Thats what I do.

Toxic mold????

how can you tell if a person has been in the presence of toxic mold? besides going to the dr. are there any other places that can test humans for toxic mold ? ive heard that lead test includes taking a piece of hair or something like that and it will tell you how bad its the presence in your body! any ideas????

I think that toxic mold is tested on the surface of wherever the mold grew.. not in a person as in "lets test him for toxic mold" because the mold will settle in your lungs and cause the problems... so first you will know that the person is sick... and then they trace it back to the mold.

Once someone is sick there are a couple of tests they can do. First they would do a blood culture to see if there was anything growing in the blood (it takes 72 hours to get a negative test). Also, in serious cases they will do a bronchoscopy and squirt water into your lungs. They then take the water and culture it... if mold grows... then they know.

There are certain blood tests that can be done to look for certain anti-bodies. IF the toxic mold gets into your body its called mycotoxins or mycotoxicosis. Tell your doctor about this. I have two girls 4 %26amp; 5. I have always tried to be the "enforcer" on rules; eating their veggies, brushing their teeth, not fighting! (right...) I haven't been a push over. Anyways, I am 20 weeks preggy now and getting tired. They just are not helping pick up their toys, craft papers etc. My house is becoming a total disaster area and I don't have the energy anymore to constantly yell or clean up after them. I've HAD IT! I need some techniques to restore order to my home. I speak and I might as well be talking to the door. I yell, they look for a second and go back to what they're doing. One is extremely head strong to boot. I really need advice from some experienced Moms or Dads out there before I pull my last piece of hair out!

Try taking away their toys. You can also have them get on their knees and face the wall. I used to do that to my nephews and my niece. You have to be smarter than them. If you take away what they like then they won't have anything left to play with. You get rewarded with things, so tell them until they behave and pick up after themselves, they will not have anything to play with...

Tell them clean up or else........no TV, Goodies, Toys etc., and then follow through on punishment, if they think they can get past you they will, you have to tow the line and punish them. but i have heard of donating cut hair, iv been asked before iv been cut, if its ok that they use my trimings for donations, i give them ok and sign the release form and my left over cuts are donated. of course, it has to be 100% natural, and not-dyed, and the length requirements vary place to place. i donated 6-7 inchs. but i was planing on changing hair styles anyways, so it was a win win

I cant really say it was the worst thing because it was so much fun. Me and my family{My Mom, my 3 daughters, My sister and myself} All got into a huge food fight. It all started with a little dab of salad dressing I put on my Moms face. It started out slow at first and then we went balls to the wall. I would like to say that this is the first time this happened but it's not. It's only the biggest.We did try to help in the clean up....They said not to worry about it. I think they just wanted us to leave. Cant blame them really. First of all, that was smart to check the pizza before you left the restaurant. I've been guilty of the "grab and go" technique. Not too bright of me because even if it's a place that "always" has high quality food, they are still human and have the ability to make mistakes. It really bites me in the butt (not checking my food before leaving) when I'm really hungry or drove 20 minutes away to bring food home.

But I digress...if I found the hair in a situation like yours, I would politely and quietly tell the person handling my transaction about the hair. I could make a big scene alerting the entire dining facility, but why embarass the employees--and myself? I mean, I do cook at home and, yes, it's true, I have cooked the occassional hair into the meal. Not due to a lack of cleanliness, it just happens sometimes. I figure if I can make a mistake, so can they. Sure, it's gross--whether it's their hair or mine--but if I handle the situation in a respectful way...well, it's just nicer for everyone involved.

Now if I believe they did it on purpose, I would speak with the manager or owner and would not return.

What "I" would have done, is been cool and calm about it. Since I know that this can happen, and I'm not ridiculous in my behavior, I would have spoke to whoever was at the counter. I would tell them that I just found a hair in my pizza, and would like to have another one cooked. I would not demand my money to be returned. The person working at the counter would more than likely tell the manager about what has just happened and the manager would probably either offer to give me the pizza free or offer me a free coupon or something. I highly doubt I wouldn't be reimbursed somehow. And if I wasn't offered anything, I would just get over it!

How Come All Dogs Have That Black Wart On Their Cheeks?

Does anybody know why all dogs have that black wart on their cheeks with the piece of hair coming out of it? What purpose does the wart on the cheek serve? I've noticed this wart on all dogs. This is a super weird question. It's not a black wart, it's the base of a hair follicle where the hair grows out. Sometimes it can feel like a lump. Dogs usually have multiples of these on each side of their face as well as under the chin. They're not warts at all.

First of all: I believe you, I really think that you'd be the one to know if he was flirting with you. If it doesn't bother you terribly, you're probably not in too much danger.

It's an embarrassing subject. Because if you ever made your case public, he'd deny the claims, making you look like you just wanted attention. If he found out that you were accusing him of anything, your remaining school days with him would always be bitter. It's VERY difficult for a young girl in your situation to solve it. If you're going to make any claims to a school administrator, make sure you have plenty of friends to back you up.

In your case, this is what I'd do: I'd play him off. Whenever you think he might be "flirting" with you or giving you any hints toward that direction, react negatively. Give him the "Ok, whatever..." face or the perplexed "what was that?" face. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. You can still be nice to him, since he is a nice guy. But when he does something that makes you uncomfortable, make sure you show it somehow without directly saying it. He should get the hint to back off.

The point is, he's a grown man and you're a young female. It's wrong in every sense, even if he wasn't a teacher. He should know better than to even give the slightest hint of flirtation with his students. Don't feel too bad for him if you have to hurt his feelings a little bit to get him to back off.

Same sort of thing happened with me and I ignored it. Sometimes it will go away, talk to someone you really trust about this and don't follow his lead. You do not need to feel like you have to flirt with him just because he flirts with you. umm well honestly if you younger then 18 it is wrong , i know what you mean though if one of my teachers i thought was attractive did it to me i wouldnt know what to do either , i would want people telling me to go for it but the truth comes down to whats right and whats wrong . and thats wrong what he is doing is very wrong and inapropriate. and i know you dont want to hear that because i wouldnt either if i was in your postion. There is a difference between liking him and being flirtatious which, by the way, you do have a choice. There is no reason to feel like you have to flirt back at him which you need to quit doing because all you're doing is encouraging him. What he is doing is over stepping his professional boundaries and he is begging to get fired. If that would happen it wouldn't be your fault as he brought this on himself where he should have had better sense to have more control over himself. That is even more reason to make it a point to keep your distance and keep things cool between him and you. This doesn't mean that you need to be rude or uncivil toward him. It just means to use some discretion when he gives you attention that goes beyond the guidelines of protocol even if you have to back away from him when he puts his hands on you or look away when he makes some facial gestures.

There's probably been others in his past that he's been carrying on with but has been getting away with it because they've been too intimated to say anything.
