I originally had ash blonde hair and finally decided to dye it dark brown. Now I want it back to blonde. How do I do this myself? I don't know what's safe and what isn't. I accidently bought something thats supposed to strip the hair of dyed color....except you can't use it if you dyed your hair with metallic color or something, so I did a test strip. And it fried the pieces into breakage. Soooo, I don't want that to happen! Would a normal bleach kit work for my hair? Or is there another step since my dark hair is DYED, not natural?

You will probably turn your hair orange if you do not use a color stripper. Find one that doesn't react to metal dyes (which you really shouldn't use in the first place).

You will need to get a light blonde in order to get anywhere near a blonde color. Be careful to color the hair completely and quickly to get an even color. please please don't use bleach!!! A friend of mine did that to his dark brown almost black hair and it came out orange. He was stuck like that for months until it was safe to color his hair back. I would suggest buying some cheaper do it yourself box haircoloring kits.
