Help with an 80's Rock Band Costume.?

For Halloween my fiance is going to be a member of an 80's rock band.

Now I know the bands like Poison, Warrant, Guns N Roses, Motely Crue.. But we're having trouble coming up with little pieces of the costume.

We have the spandex for the bottom but what about the top? Also any ideas for a codpiece? (it's a hard piece that covers the groin) Something flashy and what not.

Btw - It's supposed to be in the Big Hair part of the 80's.

Like a jacket with no shurt about half way zipped up and like a banndana tied around his neck. Make sure he has the sleves of the jacket pulled up about half way up his arms. He could also wear a wife beatter undershirt under the jacket. The jacket needs like rine stones or little sparkley metal things on it in some pattern. look at this it may give you some ideas. =)

He can go classic 80's and wear a vest with no shirt or if he isn't comfy with that a peasant shirt.

Cod piece try card board and aluminum foil.

just get a bright t-shirt or tank. the wore big flashy button down shirts or t-shirts with flashy belts and leather jackets. as for the cod peice, i dont really remember them wearing much of that. go to you tube and look up any hairbakd for more ideas.
