she threw up most???? of it. I'm concerned since 2 days passed before she threw up. She is eating fine so far and I did see her poop once. I called the vet the morning she did this, and he said it was a hard call to know what to do. What do you think at this point. The plastic is chewed in small sharp pieces. thanks

Most dogs are fine when they eat things like this. If has been two days and she is fine i think she will be fine I'm sure it's through her system. But, if she shows signs of pain and loss of appetite i would be concerned but other than she should be fine.

as long as your dog is not hacking up blood, which would mean the peices cut into the dogs guts, then you should be fine. Monitor the dogs breaths. If they are labored, the peices of plastic could be blocking something, just be aware of what your dog is doing. If you notice something isn't right, take your dog the the emergency vet pronto!!!

If your dog eats drinks and ELIMINATES, I wouldnt worry that much . I know it;s hard :)))
Just keep an eye on the "poop" :)

If she is eating and defecating and otherwise seems healthy at this point, I'd watch her closely and take her to the vet ASAP if any symptoms show up. Chances are that she will pass through anything else that she did not throw up. But if she starts to act ill, it could be symptoms of a bowel perforation or obstruction and that will need immediate medical attention.

If she is eating okay and things are coming out okay at the other end, she'll probably fine. Just go out with her to make sure she is having nice healthy normal sized bowel movements (gross sounding I know, but necessary). You might even spot pieces of the plastic in her stools! If she shows any other signs of being ill, then go to your vet for x-rays because she could have a blockage. If you are really worried, you could get an x-ray anyhow, see how things look in there. But she will likely be okay. My weimaraner has eaten things she shouldn't and just pooped them out. Try to keep things she can eat out of her reach though, it isn't something you want to encourage!

just watch your dog carefully.at least she has an appetite..But also know small pieces of the plastic could get caught in her intestines so for safety i would take my dog to the vet for an xray..

Hi there. My daughters bulldog chews plastic pop bottles all the time and believe me he is just fine. I think if he's eating okay and acting fine he's probobly is doing well. I think pieces of wood presents more of a threat.
