what does nits look like. I know someone that went to get there hair colored and they was told they had nits. They then went to the doctor and he told her that he just thought it was dandruff. Does nits itch? She said her head never itched. And now she is scared that she really might have them even thought the doctor said that it wasn't. The pieces in her hair are white tiny pieces. And they are not hard to get out. She is now scared to go back to another place because she is afraid they will tell her that they are nits too. But I would think the doctor would know the truth.

According to my mom who has been dealing with my sister head lice and nits for the past month, nits are little white pieces that stick to strands of hair and you know they are nits because they don't come right off the hair like dandruff. Also nits are lice eggs, so if you have lice you have nits and if you have nits and you don't get them taken care of you will get lice, you can take care of them by getting a special shampoo form the drug store like RID!! Both the hairdresser and the doctor should know what they are talking about!!

Nits are the eggs of lice. Nits do not make you itch the lice bites do. They are usually close to the scalp and can often be found around the nape of neck and around ears. Dandruff will easily brush off the head. Nits require a bit of effort to remove. I would go with what the doctor says.
