I THINK I found my missing cat Princess. HELP NOW PLEASE!?

Well. On January 1st, 2007 (this year) my cat Princess went missing. Then today I was looking on my local animal rescue and they had a picture of a cat. It looks EXATCLY like my cat Princess. Same color, eye color, shape, size, meow, attitude, markings and even the pad color. So we went to take a look at the cat. Well. The cat is a neutered MALE. Mine is a spayed FEMALE. But it was listed on the website as a female. I am 99% sure that it is my cat Princess. The only thing is that they say that the cat is a neutered MALE. So we looked and my mother and I both agreed that it is a female. How can I tell a neutered male from a female? There is no empty sac where the testicles used to be. I cant believe that it is a MALE. Since Princess was spayed she should have a scar on her stomach, right? So they could shave a piece of hair and see if the cat has a scar. But I dont want to put the cat through that since he/she is very upset. I belive that it is my cat Princess. How I tell if its a girl?

Well, i would ask if you could see the cat and then check if it is a male or a female. If you don't know how to check it is just like a baby. I would think if it looks exactly like your cat it probably might be and they might have said that it is a bot but meant a girl. Also, if it has the same things (attitude etc.) ask if they will let you take the cat home (if they are nice people if not i wouldn't cause then they will probably get mad and stuff) and see if she/he knows where everything is at or about where everything is at and it is most likely you cat.

I would ask them where they got the cat and if they don't know, ask if you can take it home and see how it reacts to your house, I did that and I found out it was my cat...

Ask if they would be able to let you take the cat to a vet for a check-up before you decide to take it. The vet could examine the cat and tell you if it is male or female. Also, a good exam would find any other possible problems that may have come up when the cat was missing (if it is yours). They may even have a vet on site.

only way to tell is to shave the stomach to see if there is a scar, there are mistakes when sexing cats espcially neutered males.

also another thing you can do to check and see if it is really your cat is to see when the cat was brought in. if it was sometime after January 1st then there is a good chance that it could be, if it was brought in prior to January 1st then it isn't.

A neutered male cat will still have a penis, a felmale a vagina. Just below the rectum is a second "hole", if you apple light pressure there and a penis extrudes, its a male.

If you think that cat it's your princess just accept it like that and if you call her and she responds to you then that's it. Good luck. I really don't know what's the difference I only had females
