I Need Some Help With This Myth.?

Okay, so i heard that there was this girl who was cutting hair and a fine shard from the persons hair went in her finger...it was stinging and eventually it became infected and worked it's way in....then she died from the infection. i heard this could happen easily. ANYWAYS...i was just trimmin a little piece of hair on my OWN hair tonight...and my finger all of a sudden got pricked when i was letting my hand down...now it hurts...it's stinging and it won't go away...could this myth be a possibility ?

well anything that can get under your skin and cause an infection, usually nothing serious, but if you dont get it treated then the infection can spread through your body!! so if triple antibotics dont clear up the infection, it would be best to go to the dr...........

You are just letting your mind run away with you. Of course its not true. There are many things that can cause teeny tiny cuts on our bodies. Hair is NOT one of them.

This is an extremely unlikely scenario. The person would have to be very sick to start with. ie. Their body would have to have no ablility to fight infection (immunity) and have not sought treatment early enough. In a normal person this just would not happen. If you were so unlikely to develop an infection it would most likely be minor and resolve itself. In the unlikely circumstance that it progressed and was not improving a simple course of antibiotics should clear it up. In extreme cases of infection and operation to wash out the affected area and a course of intravenous antibiotics in hospital would be commenced. Basically you will be fine. Go see your doctor if it doesn't feel better in a couple of days to put your mind at ease.

it could be true because anything is possible and its jus like getting a cut on your finger it could get infected and get mdeicine before it is to late but if it is not treated then the infection could spread through oyur body and you could die .
