In this picture...---%26gt; http://www.allure.com/images/trends/2006... you will see that this female has hair on the side of her head. For some awkward reason, I don't have hair on the side, like that little piece of hair on the side that usually one has, I don't have one. Is that normal?

Do you mean at the neck area or over the ear? Or at the temple?

My hair is definitely not like hers at the neck. Hers grows downward. Mine has an upward growth habit (make ponytails easier). The sideburns part are unique to everyone. Some individuals and races have more hair down beside the ear. Some people have no sideburns at all. Hairlines at the temple and forehead are all shapes and habits. I am sure yours is perfectly normal if it is the same on both sides and your hair is healthy.
