Swollen Taste Buds and Weird White Spot?

About two weeks ago I had the flu. I've been over it and feeling back to normal for about a week but I have still felt my sinuses draining and they are just starting to dry up. Late Monday I started getting this scratchy feeling at the back of my throat. Then today it almost felt like a piece of hair stuck back there or something. Tonight I took a flashlight and looked in the mirror. At the very back of my tounge what I guess to be tastebuds or something are all red and swollen. I also havee weird small white spot at the very top of the esophagus tube. Everytime I swallow I have that weird scratchy feeling which I can only guess are the swollen buds.

I have no sore throat but I did when I was dealing with the flu. I have no fever. But due to how soon this happened after the flu I don't know if I should be worried. I've heard the tounge heals fast but the feeling I get when I am swallowing is kind of freaky and has me a bit worried. Should I see a doctor or will it heal?

Sounds like you may have strep, check with a doc. Btw, taste buds = tongue.

Go to doc... sounds like could be strep throat, but with no pain in throat not sure, could be some type of infection, but deff you need to see a doctor about it...

it could be strep you would need to see a doctor and start on an antibiotic

Seeing a doctor is your best bet. You case is probably a simple run-of-the-mill virus, but there are some other things that may be going on too that only a doctor could know. It is likely not strep, as you would still be in pain. It could be Mono, which causes swollen neck lymphnodes and white tonsilar exudates (not to mention complete lack of energy), or it could be one of a million other viruses.
