Any ideas on how I can make a cool headpiece for a Medusa halloween costume?

The one that came with the dress is really cheesy, its that thin foam material with metallic paint and the foam snakes are all bent. I want it to look really cool, I am going to curl my hair and have pieces stick out. I want to make a headpiece that has thin rubber snakes coming out or something like that. Any ideas on how I could do that?

You can get packages of little rubber snakes at Dollar Tree . Use hair pins (bobby pins-also at $Tree) and stick them onto your hair near the roots.
