Pixie haircut suitable for my tight curls?

Hi. I would love a pixie haircut with movement. I have found photos of beautiful cuts on celeb's like Kate Moss, Winona Ryder, Natalie Portman and Keira Knightly. The thing is, they all have super-straight hair, while mine is kinky/curly. Is there a way to create this look with my hair, without looking like a mushroom? Ideally I would like short hair with some longer loose pieces that frame my face and look feminine. In other words, I would like a pixie cut that is more than just a short afro.

I felt like a mushroom when i cut my hair like that. I hated it. I think because it curls up it makes it look a lot shorter that it is...which give you the mushroom look. I cut my hair with a lot of layers and to the nap of my neck. The shortest layer was to the top of my ear. This way I still have enough hair below my ear so it doesn't look like a mushroom...but the shortness that I liked. those celebrities do have stick straight hair. You need to go online and search for short curly styles. Hope I helped!!
